Are The Gel Packs Recyclable?

Thergis gel packs are filled with a non-toxic water-based salt solution.

REUSE:

Simply rinse the gel pack off and refreeze for use in a picnic bag, on the next camping or fishing trip or in a lunch box.

FREECYCLE:

A global grassroots and entirely non-profit movement of people who are giving (& getting) products for free in their own towns. It’s all about reuse and keeping good products out of landfills.

DONATE:

Contact your local food rescue charity. They will be glad to receive your excess gel packs to keep their food donations cool.

FREEZER INSULATION:

Line the bottom and sides of your freezer with Thergis gel packs. They help keep the temperature more consistent during all the daily ins and outs. If the power goes out the food has a better chance of surviving in frozen form, especially if the freezer door is not opened.

REDUCE AND RECYCLE:

Once you’re finished with the gel pack, let the gel pack defrost. Simply cut open the bag. Pour the non-toxic solution down the drain; using hot tap water will help dissolve the gel. Recycle the plastic according to your local curbside recycling regulations.
